De-miner's Foot Severed at Berqaber Border, Transferred to Yerevan: Voskanyan Sargsyan
At the Berqaber border, a de-miner suffered a severed foot and has been transferred to Yerevan. Journalist Voskanyan Sargsyan announced this on his Facebook page.
“I learned from the Ijevan medical center that a de-miner’s right foot was severed as a result of a mine explosion in the Berqaber border zone. He has been transferred to Yerevan for further treatment,” Sargsyan reported.
Earlier, the 'Tavush for the Homeland' movement had reported that contract serviceman G. Mardanyan (born 1980) was injured by a mine explosion in the Kiranq-Berqaber section.
Garnik Danielyan, a member of the National Assembly from the 'Armenia' faction, stated in Kiranq that, according to his information, an explosion occurred during de-mining operations in Tavush, resulting in the injury of a serviceman.
In connection with Danielyan's statement, we sought clarification from the Ministry of Defense, which responded to NEWS.am’s inquiry stating, “There is a serviceman with a mine injury, but his life is not in danger, and his condition is assessed as satisfactory.”
