Members of the opposition party are asserting that police have 'imparted unprecedented violence' by detaining their members. According to member Hermine Mkrtchyan, council member Garegin Chughasyan and reserve colonel Volodya Avetisyan have also been detained.
In a Facebook live broadcast, Hermine Mkrtchyan announced that their members have been 'beaten' in police stations, with injuries reported.
It should be noted that footage is being circulated online showing the ongoing protests in the center of Yerevan.
