Video Captures Terrorists Ram Vehicle into People, Attempt Shooting in Jerusalem
On the morning of April 22, three Israelis were injured near a synagogue at the intersection of Yermiyahu and Tehlet Mordechai streets in Jerusalem, due to a deliberate vehicular attack by two terrorists. The suspects fled the scene, and police are currently searching for them. They were armed with "Carl Gustav" submachine guns (the improvised version of Carl Gustav) and a machete.
The police have already determined that the suspects arrived in a white Kia vehicle from the Romemi neighborhood of the capital. They swiftly aimed their vehicle at people near the synagogue, struck them, and then collided with an oncoming car. Surveillance footage shows that after the crash, one of the terrorists exited the vehicle, pulled out the submachine gun, but was unable to fire due to a jammed weapon. The second terrorist rushed to assist him, but no shots were fired.
A large police force has been mobilized to pursue the terrorists, with helicopters and drones deployed. Mobile checkpoints have been set up on roads. The emergency services reported that they received information about the incident at 07:52. Initially, it seemed there were two separate incidents, but it later became clear that there was only one location for the events.
Dr. Daniel Levin reported that one of the injured, a 22-year-old man, was fully conscious and suffered bruises. Two other ultra-Orthodox males, aged 15 and 18, sustained minor injuries. The injured were transported to Shaare Zedek Hospital.
