VIDEO: All Roads Leading to Bagratashen Are Closed; Protesters Shatter Military Vehicle Windows
A minibus traveling from Yerevan to Tbilisi is unable to reach the checkpoint due to a closed road from Alaverdi to Noyemberyan. This was reported by a company engaged in interstate transfers between Yerevan and Tbilisi, speaking with Sputnik Armenia.
Currently, all three routes from Armenia to Georgia are completely blocked at the Bagratashen checkpoint. The company is considering an alternative route for passengers via Stepanavan-Tashir-Gogavan.
As for the route leading to the Bavra checkpoint from Gyumri, it is inconvenient for traveling from Yerevan to Tbilisi as it is much longer.
A vehicle marked with the emblem of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Corps drove towards citizens protesting and blocking the road leading to the Bagratashen checkpoint. Police insist that employees of the Ministry of Defense were not aware of the agreements made with residents, which is why they arrived to carry out demining operations. This was stated by political analyst Suren Petrosyan, who recently settled in Voskepar, during a Facebook live broadcast.
Earlier on his Facebook page, Suren had reported that the armed forces had gone to attempt to conduct demining operations near the Holy Mother of God Church in Voskepar, but residents had obstructed these efforts. In the areas adjacent to the village of Kiran, attempts to conduct demining operations were also made, causing residents to rise again and block the Yerevan-Noyemberyan interstate road.
