Iran: No Immediate Retaliatory Strike Planned
Iran does not plan to deliver an immediate retaliatory strike following today’s attack, and there is no clarity on who is behind it, reports Reuters citing an Iranian senior official.
“There is no plan for an immediate retaliatory strike, and there is no clarity on who is behind the incident,” the official was quoted as saying.
According to U.S. media reports, Israel carried out a “limited” retaliatory strike on targets within Iran on Friday night. Explosions were reported in the vicinity of Isfahan city.
The Iranian state news agency IRIB reported that air defense systems were activated in several provinces of the country due to UAV flights. The Tasnim agency stated that nuclear facilities in Isfahan Province are completely secure. Additionally, three Iranian officials confirmed to the New York Times that the targets of the strikes were located near the airbase close to Isfahan.
