Azerbaijan and Turkey Will Receive a Gift: The Four Most Important Points of Tavush – Vanadzor is Becoming a Border Zone, Says Turkologist

Turkologist Varujan Geghamyan has commented on the preliminary agreements between Armenia and Azerbaijan regarding borders in Tavush, stating:

“By May 15, Azerbaijan and Turkey will receive a gift: the four most important points of Tavush, which will undermine Armenia's defense system. This has already been announced by the de facto authorities of Armenia.

This means, for instance, that the city of Vanadzor is transforming into a border zone, and the main gas pipeline of Armenia will now be controlled by the Turks.

Azerbaijan has practically forced our army to no longer maintain the border but rather only the border guards. This is very unfortunate because, unlike our border forces, Azerbaijan's border troops are essentially a full-fledged military combat unit, not merely guards.”
