Deep Systemic Crisis in the State Apparatus is Evident: Pashinyan
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, addressing the incidents of exemption from military service, noted that there are numerous loopholes, and the practice allows for their wide use. “In our law enforcement system, if I don’t say many, at least a few such high-profile cases come to mind, where schemes involving the mobilization system and health care system employees are in action,” he stated, adding that, as a result of inspections by the National Security Service, astonishing facts have been discovered. “It is recorded that a conscript has a cyst in his brain, but later it cannot be identified. The research data referred to is that person’s own research data, indicating that we have a typical cyst, which is put into everyone’s files through 'Xerox' and we exempt them. There are such profound issues and problems. Who would have thought that there is such a broad collaboration against the state between holders of two elite professions in the country? And it is very significant that these alarms, these situations should wave a red flag to us indicating that there is such a problem,” he remarked. He also questioned why the frontline units of the Ministries of Health and Defense have not reported to the government. “Should we perhaps form a group to get an answer to this question?” The Prime Minister also noted that relevant reports are not coming from frontline units. “The deep systemic crisis in the state apparatus is evident here.”
