The leader of the Bright Armenia party, Edmon Marukyan, has called for an end to discussions regarding the compilation of the names of the victims of the Armenian Genocide during a Facebook live broadcast. Referring to the statement made by MP Andranik Kocharyan from the ruling party about the intent to count the names of the 1.5 million victims of the Armenian Genocide, he emphasizes that the ongoing discussion is a trap.

“This is a trap, stop this discussion. Turkey wants this issue to become a subject of debate rather than a matter of condemnation and recognition. The Armenian Genocide is a recognized fact at the scientific, academic, and political levels. More than 30 countries, as well as all 50 states of the USA, have recognized the genocide. It is a taboo, close it, end the discussion about the genocide,” he states.
