VIDEO: When We Say That Turkey Is Just A Few Meters Beyond Khor Virap, We Acknowledge 'Real' Armenia – Pashinyan

We acknowledge that Turkey is just a few meters beyond Khor Virap. This statement was made by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the National Assembly.

"Our fundamental debate is whether we should look at today’s world from the tower of the Kingdom of Van or from the tower of the Republic of Armenia. I and the government of Armenia acknowledge that Turkey is a few kilometers beyond Khor Virap. This acknowledgment is a crucial means for ensuring security for the government of Armenia," he said.

Pashinyan noted that when we say there is no Turkey just a few meters beyond Khor Virap, we acknowledge historical Armenia, while when we say there is Turkey, we acknowledge 'real' Armenia.

"The same applies to Vardenis because when you do not agree to set a boundary between yourself and another, you mix yourself with the other, and you also give the other the opportunity to enter our sovereign territory," he added.

Pashinyan also mentioned that this needs to be acknowledged as a strategic permanence.
