Vardanyan Subjected to Brutal Beating While Being Transferred to Detention Center: Lawyer

The lawyer Varazdat Harutyunyan reports: “Yesterday, in connection with the incident involving a member of the ruling party, the detained Samvel Vardanyan was subjected to a brutal beating by a group of masked individuals while being transported to the detention center.”

“I will soon have the opportunity to speak with Samvel, after which we will provide further details.”

It is noteworthy that an incident occurred yesterday on public transport involving the MP Hakob Aslanyan from the ruling party and activist Samvel Vardanyan, which was accompanied by mutual insults. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, and the youth who insulted the MP has been arrested.

The incident was also addressed by the President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian.
