Yesterday they were dancing, I suggest those dance groups stay in Tavush after dancing: Andranik Kocharyan

Let's not fix ourselves on the promised deadline – whether it will happen in seven or ten days depends on our discussions with our counterparts. This was stated by the ruling party MP Arthur Hovhannisyan during a press briefing in the National Assembly, responding to the question of why Prime Minister Pashinyan did not attend the promised meeting with the residents of Tavush ten days after his first visit.

Your question creates the impression that he deceived the people by not coming. No, he did not deceive and did not come; let’s remove those perceptions, we are moving into a process where we will all inevitably go through the same process,” he said.

Ruling MP Andranik Kocharyan also noted that without recognizing state borders, we cannot even dream of lasting peace. “Everyone is going to Tavush; they were dancing yesterday, and I suggest those dance groups stay in Tavush after dancing. Let’s not turn Tavush into a political toy in our hands; there are very serious problems to solve there, and the resolution of those problems is not a matter for exploitation. Whether Pashinyan goes in 10 days or 15 days is not the issue; the Prime Minister is not shying away from any serious meeting,” he said.

Regarding the question of why Pashinyan uses the term 'Great Genocide' instead of the word 'Genocide' in his speeches, and what Andranik Kocharyan means by saying that the names of the victims of the Genocide should be highlighted, he said, “Maybe that number is more or less; why hasn’t our state addressed this issue? The Jews have succeeded; why can’t we? This is very important for the construction of our relationships in the future; do not feel bad about it. Besides those pictures in the genocide museum, the names and surnames of our martyred people should also be there; if we haven’t done this, we have failed, and this issue should have a beginning and an end. If we do not record this, the opposing side can always say that such a thing did not happen; they still say it. Let’s not throw out other goals.”

Arthur Hovhannisyan also responded, “You are suggesting that the Prime Minister of Armenia refuses to use the word 'Genocide.' What are you saying? I ask you, such a thing cannot be, such a question is not on our agenda; the people of Armenia are a genocided people; under the current government, several crucial processes have taken place regarding the recognition of the Genocide by the US Senate, etc.”

In response to the question of whether on April 24, when you ascend to the Tsitsernakaberd memorial, you will feel in the real or historical Armenia, Andranik Kocharyan said, “We will walk in the real Armenia, not forgetting the heritage of our historical Armenia.”

“For 30 years you make us love the land of others, for what? There is land under your feet; you have gone to the internationally recognized land of others; what do you want? I do not understand,” said Arthur Hovhannisyan.
