Soldier's Body Found Outside Nissan After Accident in Voghji River

On April 14, a tragic accident occurred in the Syunik province. At around 22:20, Yura A., a resident of Syunik, lost control of his Nissan vehicle on Spandaryan Street near the 'Prince' restaurant and hotel complex in Kapan. Under still unknown circumstances, the car veered off the roadway, collided with a concrete section of a bridge, and ended up in the Voghji River.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, rescuers, police officers, and citizens conducted a search operation that led to the discovery of the driver's body approximately 500 meters from the vehicle. The rescuers retrieved the body and brought it to the mortuary.

A criminal case has been initiated by the investigative department regarding the accident, which may be handed over to the Military Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia. According to G. Shamshyan's sources, the driver was a contract soldier serving in military unit N of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia.
