Freedom House Does Not Determine Whether Armenia is Democratic or Not, Says CP Member

Freedom House does not determine whether Armenia is democratic or not. This was stated by Arthur Hovhannisyan, the secretary of the CP faction, during a discussion in the National Assembly regarding Freedom House's latest report.

“Armenia works daily to strengthen its democracy. We appreciate the reports from international partners, learn from them, and develop our democracy. Among the countries in the world, Armenia is one of the most democratic,” he said.

It is noteworthy that Armenia has recorded a decline in its national democratic governance ranking in Freedom House's Nations in Transit 2024 report, dropping from 2.50 to 2.25.
