In the lightweight category of mixed martial arts, Arman Tsarukyan (Armenia), ranked fourth in the UFC standings, triumphed over Brazilian Charles Oliveira, the number one contender, at the UFC 300 event held in Las Vegas. After the first round, Tsarukyan gained an advantage in the second and third rounds, securing a victory by unanimous decision from the judges (28-29, 29-28, 29-28).

With this win, Tsarukyan became a title challenger and will face the current UFC champion in this weight class, Russian Islam Makhachev.
