Major Accident in Zovuni: Conscription Soldier Collides with Parked Truck, Hospitalized
Today, on April 14, a significant traffic accident occurred in the Kotayk region. According to shamshyan.com, around 02:10, a 33-year-old named Erik Baghdasaryan, driving a Nissan X-Trail, collided with a parked MAN truck near a gas station in the first street of Zovuni village. After the initial collision, he continued forward and crashed into a stone fence of a resident's house.
As a result of the crash, there was a fuel leak from the truck's fuel tank. Firefighters secured the area, washed the road, and remained on duty until the contents of the truck's tank were emptied.
A photojournalist reported that the Nissan driver was first assisted by bystanders and a response team from the Yeghvard hospital, before being taken to the Yeghvard medical center. After receiving initial treatment, he was transferred via ambulance to the Yerevan State Medical University Hospital.
According to reports, the Nissan X-Trail driver is a conscription soldier who was on legal leave. The police are investigating the identity of the MAN truck driver, along with reports that another vehicle was damaged and the details regarding that vehicle and its driver.
Witnesses at the scene told the site’s correspondent that when the Nissan collided with the MAN truck, the driver was ejected from the vehicle, creating the impression that a hit-and-run had occurred.
