Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Yerevan

On April 13, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred in Yerevan. Around 21:50, 22-year-old Nahapet H. from Yerevan struck a pedestrian, 68-year-old Shahen P., with his Kia vehicle at the intersection of Arshakunyan Street and Hrant Vardanian Street, near the "Grand Sport" gym. According to the site, the driver did not flee the scene and assisted in transporting the injured pedestrian to the hospital. The ambulance that arrived at the scene took the victim, but unfortunately, Shahen did not regain consciousness and passed away during transport.

The Yerevan City Police Department informed the Investigative Committee of Armenia's Transport Crimes Division about the incident, prompting the arrival of an investigative team. A criminal case has been initiated based on the facts of the case. Following the investigator's directives, the vehicle has been moved to a secure area of the Yerevan City Police Department.

According to reports, the driver is employed as an IT specialist at "Soft Construct" LLC. He underwent a sobriety test and was found to be sober.
