Israel Refuses to Strike Iran Following Netanyahu and Biden Conversation

Israel has declined to strike Iran in retaliation following a conversation between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Joe Biden. This was reported by the New York Times.

Two unnamed Israeli officials indicated that authorities opted against a military response despite some members of the wartime cabinet suggesting this option as an alternative diplomatic reaction. The decision to forgo a military response came after Netanyahu spoke with President Biden on the phone on Saturday.

Furthermore, the damage caused by Iran's strikes has been relatively minor, and there is no need for further escalation of the conflict. However, officials did not disclose details about the content of the conversation.

It has also been reported that, according to American officials, the Biden administration is advising Israel against opening fire in response to Iran, hoping to avoid a wider war in the Middle East. The successful repulsion of the attack demonstrated Israel's ability to defend itself with the help of American allies.
