Ambassadors of France and Other Countries Summoned by Iran's Foreign Ministry

The ambassadors of the United Kingdom, France, and Germany were summoned by Iran’s Foreign Ministry on Sunday regarding the positions of London, Paris, and Berlin on the events occurring in the region.

According to the Iranian Mehr news agency, the head of the Western Europe Department in the Foreign Ministry condemned the "double standards" of the three European countries concerning Israeli attacks on Iranian diplomatic missions.

The Iranian diplomat emphasized that Tehran aims to resolutely defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national interests against any illegal use of force, affirming its commitment to the principles and objectives of the UN Charter and international law.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry stressed that Iran's strike on Israel was a response to the attacks on Iranian facilities in the region and that it was in accordance with the provisions of Article 51 of the UN Charter, which pertains to self-defense.

On the night of April 14, Iran launched multiple missile and drone strikes against Israel in retaliation for a recent airstrike on its consulate in Damascus. Israeli Defense Forces representative Daniel Hagari later reported that approximately 99% of the nearly 300 air objects fired by Iran towards Israel in one night were intercepted by air defense systems. Meanwhile, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Mohammad Bagheri called the operation a success.

Western countries condemned the Iranian strikes on Israel.
