Iran Will Bear Responsibility for Further Escalation Decisions: Hagar
The official representative of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), Daniel Hagar, stated on his Telegram channel that Iran will bear responsibility for any decision leading to further escalation, emphasizing that the army is prepared for all scenarios.
“Iran will bear responsibility for the decision to escalate the situation further. The Israel Defense Forces are prepared for all scenarios and, along with our allies, will take the necessary measures to protect the people of Israel,” Hagar announced in a video message published by the army.
According to him, Israel is in a state of high readiness and is prepared to respond. On April 1, the Syrian Ministry of Defense reported that Israeli air forces had struck the building of the Iranian consulate in the capital, Damascus. The consulate building also housed the residence of Iran's ambassador to Syria, Hossein Akbari, who was not harmed during the assault. The Syrian Ministry of Defense stated that the consulate building was completely destroyed as a result of the missile strike.
According to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) elite units, seven IRGC officers were killed as a result of the Israeli strike, including two senior generals - advisors Mohammad Reza Zahedi, the commander of the IRGC's Quds forces in Syria and Lebanon, and his deputy, Brigadier General Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi.
