This is a Top Priority for Us: Lukashenko
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has stated that during his meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, they discussed security issues, which pertain not only to Ukraine. The information was reported by TASS.
“This is a top priority for us. And do not think that we have devoted all our time to Ukraine. We have a clear understanding of the processes taking place there. The media, especially in Russia, accurately assess the situation in Ukraine and everything that is happening there. It is not just about shells; people are lacking,” said Lukashenko to journalists, as quoted by the BelTA agency.
He added that because of this, the rating of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has “dropped from 98% not to 14%, not to 30%,” noting that this “drop is very serious.” Lukashenko also emphasized that the atmosphere during negotiations with Putin is always “very serious, solid.”
“We divided our negotiations into two parts. Today’s official part expresses gratitude to the people (of the two countries' astronauts—approx. TASS) and congratulates our nations on Cosmonautics Day, once again mentioning that we will explore space together and work on it,” said the Belarusian leader.
Lukashenko recalled that the day before, they had also discussed economic issues at the Kremlin and agreed that the prime ministers would meet on April 15 to make necessary decisions regarding the three or four economic issues at hand. “We will move forward towards import substitution, moving towards equal conditions for economic entities and individuals. The prime ministers will discuss this in detail. For this reason, we did not delve deeply into these issues,” he noted.
