French Ambassador Summoned to Russia's Foreign Ministry

The French Ambassador to Russia, Pierre Lévy, has been summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry, where officials highlighted the unacceptability of statements made by French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné regarding Paris's alleged lack of interest in dialogue with the Russian leadership. According to the Russian diplomatic department, these comments suggest that France has issued false statements.

RIA Novosti reported the information. According to a statement published on the Foreign Ministry's website, "On April 12, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the French Republic to the Russian Federation, P. Lévy, was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry."

The Foreign Ministry referred to Séjourné's remarks about "the French side's lack of interest in speaking with Russian officials, claiming that their statements are ostensibly containing false information," emphasizing that such statements lack any grounding in reality.

“We assess the statements made by the head of the French Foreign Ministry as a deliberate and calculated action by the French side aimed at undermining any possibility of genuine dialogue between the two countries,” the Russian Foreign Ministry underscored.
