Video: Mother Cathedral Violated At Least One Commandment - 'Do Not Lie' - Vahagn Aleksanyan

From the podium of the National Assembly, deputy Vahagn Aleksanyan declared: 'For several days now, we have been witnessing intense developments within the clergy, because recently the Mother Cathedral spread fake news claiming that the authorities of Armenia are planning to hand over territories from the Tavush region, which was an obvious falsehood and clearly with that narrative, the Mother Cathedral violated at least one of God's commandments - 'do not lie' - and lied.'

'What is more significant here is that when I reacted to it and pointed out that the Mother Cathedral is spreading fake news, as a believer I mentioned that the Mother Cathedral must stop this political stance, since it forces us believers to turn away from the Armenian Apostolic Church thanks to them. This was reacted to by another opposition archbishop who claimed that we are the ones spreading fake news, we are the fake government,' he stated.

Aleksanyan indicated that if he is not mistaken, the same opposition archbishop said that Armenia is indeed a fake state, pointing to the map of Armenia that the Prime Minister frequently shows. 'The reality is the opposite. This is the real Armenia and it is with this real Armenia that we all connect our hopes and future. Do you know why this opposition archbishop's stance has created a certain dissonance regarding our position? Because his colleague, another archbishop, for example, does not connect his future that much with Armenia; he connects it more with the offshore of Cyprus. That's why, when the money is taken to the offshore of Cyprus, it is easy to say 'this is not the real Armenia,' he said.
