Video: Man from Avan Village Confesses to Strangling Yerevan Resident; New Details
On April 9, at 8:09 AM, the head of the administrative district of Avan village in the Ashtarak community called the Rapid Response Center of the Police of the Aragatsotn region, reporting that a body had been discovered in one of the houses on 1st Street of the village. This was announced by the police.
A response team that arrived at the scene found the body of 69-year-old Dalvorik Osmanian on the floor of the house’s entrance, showing signs of violence on his face and neck. The Aragatsotn Regional Investigative Department has initiated criminal proceedings for homicide and a forensic medical examination has been appointed.
As a result of joint operational and investigative measures undertaken by the Ashtarak Division of the Police and Aragatsotn Regional Directorate employees, a 63-year-old resident of Avan village was arrested on suspicion of unlawfully depriving the life of the 69-year-old man and was transferred to the Ashtarak Division.
On April 10, the results of the forensic examination were received, indicating that Dalvorik Osmanian's death was the result of strangulation. Following the measures taken and explanatory work conducted, the 63-year-old man from Avan confessed that he was the one who strangled the 69-year-old man. He made a similar confession during the proceedings in the Aragatsotn Regional Investigative Department.
The 63-year-old man has been moved to a detention facility. The investigation is ongoing, and circumstances are being clarified.
