Vahagn Aleksanyan: 'The person has gone, has had a child in the USA, and they ask us if we will go live in Voskepar.'

In recent days, there has been no shortage of shows. This was stated today, on April 9, during the announcement hour in the National Assembly by Vahagn Aleksanyan from the ruling Civil Contract party.

“The situation has reached a point where a member of the 'Honor' faction is talking about ratings from here. This is the same deputy whose electoral headquarters chief has been convicted by a legally binding court decision for distributing bribes. Every time I forget to ask how much a parliamentary mandate costs, or how much cash they received to become deputies. They come here and say, 'Let’s lower the threshold for Artsakh, and we will do this and that.' Did we say that? We said okay. I remember the texts you were saying: 'Don't dare take a step back from our independence.' Araik Harutyunyan was also accused of being our satellite. Now, when they tell us to leave, the resident in Nagorno-Karabakh has left, as per their characterization, our satellite. What did you do, should I remind you what you did? You signed the decree on the dissolution of Artsakh.

The theater of the absurd must come to an end one day. The same texts are being repeated, only the pathos was a bit more when it was about Artsakh. It's the absurdity of the century – they say, 'Will you go live in Voskepar?' Shame on you. There should be a faction that lives an ascetic life, that says they will go there, and we will say yes. You have a member of the faction who spends from morning till evening delivering his genealogy – he himself, his father, and so on. We were born in Artsakh; it is our homeland, but they are having children in America. Will they take their children to be born in Voskepar? Back then, they didn’t even take them to Stepanakert,’ noted Aleksanyan.

He also addressed the opposition’s question regarding the 208 square kilometers that are occupied, asking what the authorities are doing in that regard: ‘That very large part of that 208 has been occupied since the 1990s; what have you done on this front?’
