Armenian Ministry of Defense Statement on Border Situation

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense continues to spread disinformation, claiming that the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia are accumulating personnel, military equipment, artillery, and other fire means in various directions along the border zone and that active movements are taking place.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense has also released video footage of construction works conducted in the rear positions of the Armenian Armed Forces in recent months, attempting to portray these as recent active works and accumulations along the front lines.

The Ministry of Defense of Armenia states that the implementation of engineering works in the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia is an exercise of the country’s sovereign rights, and these works are exclusively defensive in nature and aimed at protecting the territorial integrity of Armenia.

As previously mentioned, the Armenian Ministry of Defense assesses the recent operational situation along the Armenia-Azerbaijan state border as stable and sees no need for additional measures for border protection; therefore, the information regarding troop accumulations is not accurate.
