Turkey Restricts Exports to Israel, Promises Response from Israel

The Turkish Ministry of Trade has restricted the export of goods in 54 categories to Israel. These restrictions will remain in effect until Israel announces a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, according to DW.

Turkey announced the measures after Israel rejected its request to participate in the airdrop of humanitarian aid for the Palestinian civilian population in Gaza. This marks Turkey's first significant action against Israel amid the ongoing conflict that has lasted for over six months in Gaza.

In response, Israel has promised to retaliate. Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz stated that they would approach the United States to halt investments in the Turkish economy and impose sanctions on Turkey.
