Southern Caucasus Should Not Become a Geopolitical Competition Ground, Says Iranian Foreign Ministry on EU-US-Armenia Trilateral Meeting

The Iranian Foreign Ministry has commented on the EU-US-Armenia trilateral meeting that took place in Brussels on April 5. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani, in response to a question about the meeting, stated that the Southern Caucasus should not become a battleground for geopolitical competition.

He emphasized that regional cooperation is crucial for establishing peace and stability. "Therefore, it is important to utilize the opportunities of regional formats, including the '3+3' format. In this regard, it is necessary to reinforce peace and stability and to strengthen cooperation on a mutually beneficial basis," stated the Foreign Ministry representative.
