Opposition Demands: Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister to Attend National Assembly

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan have accepted the opposition's proposal. As previously mentioned, the opposition "Armenia" faction has suggested holding an urgent discussion today regarding the issues of delimitation and demarcation.

According to the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, urgent sessions can be held during regular parliamentary sessions with the request of at least one-quarter of the total number of deputies. The urgent session will take place today during the third, main session of the ongoing four-day parliamentary meeting.

As associated speakers, the opposition has proposed to invite Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Delimitation and Demarcation Commission Mher Grigoryan and Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan to the session. "Zhoghovurd" has learned that Ararat Mirzoyan and Mher Grigoryan have accepted the proposal and will participate in the session initiated by the opposition.

We also learned that the opposition’s other proposal, to hold an urgent session in an open format, was rejected by the ruling party, meaning the session will be conducted in a closed format.
