Israeli Defense Forces Withdraw All Ground Troops from Southern Gaza
The Israeli Defense Forces have withdrawn all their ground troops from the southern Gaza Strip, specifically the Khan Younis area, after four months of fighting, reports the Times of Israel.
Currently, only one "Nahal" brigade remains in the Gaza Strip, tasked with securing the so-called "Netzarim" corridor.
Previously, former US President Joe Biden had expressed opposition to Israeli operations in the city of Rafah in southern Gaza for humanitarian reasons.
Israeli military officials announced the end of the active phase of the war, allowing the possibility of operations in Rafah. They stated that the actions of the Israeli Defense Forces are not linked to external pressures.
