Mariam Z.

The dam in Orsk failed to hold back the water flow and has completely collapsed. This was reported to TASS by emergency services. A source from the agency said that the dam on the Ural River is now entirely destroyed. It was noted that the volume of water released from the Aktobe reservoir has tripled in just one day.

The riverbanks are being fortified, and plans for further engineering works are being assessed. Emergency services added that information is being exchanged with Kazakhstan's Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Currently, over 2400 residential homes and 3065 adjacent territories in Orsk are under water. A total of 711 people, including 210 children, have been evacuated. Temporary accommodation centers have been set up for 257 people, including 76 children.

According to emergency service reports, the bodies of three individuals have been discovered in the city, with the cause of death under investigation. It is also known that one of the deceased refused to evacuate.

The local government's press service informed a TASS correspondent that two bodies were found by patrol officers in the Old Town of Orsk, which is near the potential flood zone. Preliminary information indicates that their deaths are not related to drowning.

Representatives of the local authorities have emphasized that the flood has not yet reached its peak.
