"The Brussels Meeting Was Part of a Larger Process": Ararat Mirzoyan

The €270 million expected from the EU was neither the beginning nor the end; funds have been received before this and will continue afterward.

This was stated by Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on the public television channel, adding that the meeting on April 5 was significant.

“Such a meeting in this format had never occurred before. It was an extremely important milestone in our relations with the USA and the EU, strengthening our cooperation with both,” he noted.

Mirzoyan emphasized that the announcement mentioned specific directions, starting with support for Armenia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, which he described as the most crucial need for the country.

“It also discusses the diversification of economic opportunities. One should not isolate the funding from the other points that were discussed on April 5. There shouldn’t have been expectations from the beginning, as I saw many speculations before the meeting that the EU and the US would provide much larger sums to support Armenia’s economy,” he added.

“In addition to the €270 million, let's not forget about the €2.6 billion, which will be allocated, for example, to improve the standards of Armenian products. This is only part of a larger process; it neither began nor ended with this, and it's not the case that there were no funds before that or that there won’t be any afterward,” Mirzoyan stated.
