The 'Tavush for the Homeland' Initiative Holds a Gathering

On April 4, the gathering of the 'TAVUSH FOR THE HOMELAND' civic initiative took place. The meeting started with a prayer by the Archbishop of Tavush, His Grace Bagrat Galstanyan.

Speakers included Armenian National Assembly member Garnik Danielyan, Colonel Mihran Maksudyan, President of the Auditors Chamber Nairi Sargsyan, and Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan of the Tavush Diocese.

Member of Parliament Garnik Danielyan presented the potential calamities that could arise from the possible handover of four villages in the Tavush region.

Colonel Mihran Maksudyan began his remarks with the words of Vazgen Sargsyan: "The homeland begins at the borders." He called for a struggle, urged not to fear, to be united, and to heed Nzhdeh's words: "Nations without patriotism are like a body without a soul."

Nairi Sargsyan noted that the term 'politics' is misleading. There is no 'political' institution in Armenia. Instead, there is a problem of the moral and psychological stability of Armenian society and the issue of combining military and economic components. He then presented the strategy of enemy countries, military-economic challenges, stating, "The Republic of Armenia can be powerful and wealthy, and this can happen within a year."

Archbishop Bagrat stated in his speech: "I do not engage in politics; I am concerned with your lives. Look at it through the lens of twenty to thirty years: what will future generations tell us? Will they not say 'they handed over the country while devouring each other'?" In conclusion, the Archbishop addressed those who are afraid to participate in the movement for various reasons: "Do not be afraid. You have the opportunity to rectify your compliance."

The name of the movement was reaffirmed: 'Tavush for the Homeland.' The slogan 'HONOR and HOMELAND' was also collectively adopted.
