Two Ukrainian Citizens Detained in Armenia

On March 29, 2024, police officers conducting service near Arin Berd Street in Yerevan noticed two individuals. One of them, upon seeing the law enforcement officers, threw an object from his hand and attempted to flee in a vehicle. The car was stopped, and the individuals were detained and taken to the Erebuni Police Department along with the vehicle they were using. It was discovered that the two individuals are citizens of Ukraine.

In connection with the incident, a criminal case was initiated at the Erebuni and Nubarashen investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia under part 1 of Article 393 and part 1 of Article 396 of the RA Criminal Code. The individuals were arrested based on reasonable suspicion of committing a crime.

During the examination of the crime scene, eight packages wrapped in blue duct tape containing a substance resembling a narcotic were discovered. A forensic chemical examination has already confirmed that the contents of two of these packages are the narcotic drug
