Two Individuals Transferred from Artsakh to Armenia: ICRC Details
On March 29, two individuals were transferred from Artsakh to Armenia under the escort of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). According to reports, they are a married couple, Samvel Galstyan and Margarita Shahnazaryan.
Zara Amatuni, head of communications programs for the ICRC delegation in Armenia, informed the media that the individuals were transferred to Armenia at their own request. According to Amatuni, the ICRC has been providing support to about 20 Armenians in Artsakh for various issues, helping to maintain contact with relatives outside of Artsakh.
Since October, the ICRC's assistance has led to the transfer of more than 50 individuals to Armenia. “Any person who is transferred does so voluntarily; we cannot compel anyone to take any action. We, as neutral intermediaries, facilitate the transfer. Once they cross the border, our mission is complete, and they are with the relevant authorities and their relatives,” stated Amatuni.
