On April 3, a mysterious incident occurred in the Tavush region. At around 11:30, operational information was received by the Tavush regional department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia and the Dilijan division about gunshots heard at 48/5 Maxim Gorky Street in Dilijan, where there were injured civilians. It is reported that the crime scene, which is a mobile phone and accessory store named 'Mobile Centre,' was cordoned off by patrol officers. Police discovered the body of a man inside along with a Makarov-type pistol. While the police were working at the site, the Dilijan Medical Center notified the Dilijan division of the police that an ambulance had brought in a woman with a gunshot wound to the head, and she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The Dilijan police division conveyed information about the incident to the Tavush regional investigation department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia. Based on the incident, by the decision of the head of the regional investigative department, an investigative group has been established. Criminal proceedings have been initiated on the grounds of 'murder' and 'suicide' in the Dilijan investigation department. The police and the investigative department are working to identify the deceased.

The website reports that several citizens who had gathered at the crime scene and refused to speak in front of the camera stated: 'The deceased woman was an employee of 'Unibank' who was in the 'Mobile Centre' at that moment. While she was inside, her brother-in-law, a citizen of the Republic of Artsakh and an employee of the Artsakh National Security Service, approached her and accused her family of causing a breakdown, then shot her in the head with a Makarov-type pistol, after which he committed suicide.'

According to sources, the woman who was taken to the hospital in critical condition was identified as 37-year-old Meri A., registered in the Tavush region, while the man who killed her and then committed suicide was identified as 33-year-old Khachik A., a citizen of the Republic of Artsakh.
