Video: Armenian Footballer Involved in Fatal Accident in Russia

Footballer Armen Fishyan has been involved in a fatal accident in the Stavropol region of Russia, hitting two pedestrians, including a traffic police officer and another driver whom the officer had stopped.

Following the accident, Fishyan fled the scene in a Gelandewagen. A special operation was conducted to arrest him. The incident occurred in the morning of March 23.

According to the SHOT Telegram channel, goalkeeper Armen Fishyan was driving his SUV towards Mineralnye Vody. At kilometer 284 of the highway, he struck a police lieutenant and the driver of a "Priora" who had been pulled over by the traffic police officer for a traffic violation. Both individuals died as a result of the collision.

Immediately after the accident, Fishyan fled the scene but was apprehended 60 kilometers later. During his arrest, he insisted that he had not hit anyone. He is being charged under the article for violating traffic rules, facing up to 15 years in prison.

Armen Fishyan is a former goalkeeper for the Armenian youth national football teams. Over the years, he played for the youth team of “Pyunik” and for “Mika” club. He concluded his professional career in 2016 and has since played in futsal clubs.
