The investigation into a series of alleged crimes committed by S.V., a resident of Yerevan, has been completed by the Kotayk regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee in Abovyan.

As a result of the measures taken within the framework of the criminal proceedings, it has been established that on January 24, 2024, around 02:00, information received indicated that the patrol officers of the RA Police in Yerevan noticed a Mercedes vehicle at the intersection of Freedom Avenue and Tbilisi Highway. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as S.V., displayed blatant disregard for legal norms and, in a bid to showcase his superiority over other members of society, drove the vehicle at high speed in the wrong direction, ignoring the red traffic signals and the patrol officers' order to stop, thereby endangering other road users.

As a result, he collided with an Opel vehicle near a food establishment, causing damage. Failing to comply with the lawful demands of the police officers, S.V. continued to exhibit illegal behavior and, noticing that the police were pursuing him, attempted to obstruct their actions by colliding with their service vehicle, damaging it.

During the attempt to evade the patrol officers, S.V. parked the vehicle on the roadway in the administrative territory of the Ptghni community in Kotayk Province and fled the vehicle but was caught by police officers. He then continued to obstruct their lawful activities, using violence against the officers by kicking one of them and verbally assaulting those present.

Following necessary measures, the unruly driver was taken to the police station, where it was established that he did not have the right to drive a vehicle. He also refused to undergo a sobriety test, and during a personal search, a type of narcotic called Buprenorphine was found on him.

According to the forensic examination conclusion, the total material damage caused by S.V. during the illegal actions amounted to more than 1,500,000 AMD due to damages inflicted on the
