Alexanyan on Publications Regarding Pashinyan's Resignation and Snap Elections
Some opposition media outlets are acting as if it's April 1, while others, without any doubts or signs of skepticism, are reproducing what has been written and thus carrying these April Fool's jokes into international news.
This was stated by Vaheghn Alexanyan, a member of the National Assembly from the 'Civil Contract' faction, on his Facebook page.
"Some opposition media outlets are acting as if it's April 1, while others, without any doubts or signs of skepticism, are reproducing what has been written and thus carrying these April Fool's jokes into international news. But there is nothing surprising about this; unfortunately, this is exactly the mechanism by which most of the opposition media operates. One invents, and others reproduce without double-checking, without feeling any responsibility towards the readers," wrote Alexanyan.
It is worth noting that some media outlets had earlier reported on Nikol Pashinyan's resignation, snap parliamentary elections, and urgent meetings of the party. Following that, the deputy chief of staff to the Prime Minister, Taron Chakhoyan, stated that certain media outlets were spreading false news as an April Fool's joke, misleading the public.
