Zakharova Responds to Paris Mayor's Statements
The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, issued a warning on her Telegram channel indicating that French products could be replaced with Russian alternatives due to the sharp remarks made by Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo.
Earlier, Mayor Hidalgo had stated that Russian and Belarusian athletes would not be welcomed in Paris. "What do you think, maybe we should take some French products that are currently widely represented in Russia and declare that 'they won't be happy with that?' We can't do this as long as French products are not labeled with the tags 'We are not happy in Moscow,' but I know that our activists cannot be stopped if they decide to take such a step," Zakharova wrote on her page.
She added that "one more such statement" could lead representatives of the French business community to storm the Paris city hall after the farmers, as there is a vast selection in Russia for what could replace a number of French products.
