We Believe It Is Possible to Reach a Peace Agreement with Azerbaijan: Ararat Mirzoyan
An interview with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan was broadcasted on Argentina's "Todos Noticias" television and published online, recorded during his visit to Buenos Aires. Minister Mirzoyan discussed the prospects for expanding cooperation between Armenia and Argentina, the discussions held during the official visit in this regard, as well as the security situation in the South Caucasus.
In this context, he noted the ethnic cleansing carried out by Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh, the incursions into the sovereign territory of Armenia, the existing challenges, and Armenia's efforts to address them.
“There are complications and challenges, of course, but we believe it is possible to reach a peace agreement with Azerbaijan. On our part, we are making constructive efforts to find solutions. When we talk about signing a treaty, there are important points that need to be agreed upon. Among them is the mutual recognition of territorial integrity and the delimitation of borders based on the 1991 Alma-Ata declaration,” said Minister Mirzoyan.
He also responded to questions regarding partnerships with the European Union and NATO, among other topics.
