Erdogan Calls on Allies Not to Leave Polling Stations Until Votes Are Counted

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has urged his supporters not to leave polling stations until the votes are counted and to defend the "will of the people." It is worth noting that local government elections were held in Turkey today. According to the country's election authority, there are 61.4 million eligible voters, and security has been ensured by around 600,000 law enforcement representatives.

As of 5:00 PM, the voting process has officially concluded across the republic. "As long as the last vote has not been counted and the results have not been summarized, I earnestly request all my brothers and sisters not to leave the polling stations for which they are responsible and to defend the people's will until the end," Erdogan stated on social media.

The ruling party aims to regain administrative control in regions currently headed by opposition representatives, particularly in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir.
