They Will Not Help Resolve Regional Issues; On the Contrary, They Will Escalate Them: Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan

The attempt by Western countries to intervene in the region is considered unsuccessful. This was stated by Seyyed Abbas Mousavi, the Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani media report the information.

According to him, Iran has always insisted that regional problems should be addressed through the potential of the countries in the region. "They (countries outside the region) will not help resolve regional issues; on the contrary, they will lead to their escalation. Since these countries mainly seek to secure their interests rather than those of the countries in the region," Mousavi said.

The ambassador noted that, in his opinion, the countries of the region are capable of independently solving their problems. "Iran continues its bilateral and multilateral communications in this direction," he added.
