Varsen Aghababian Appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration of Palestine
Armenian-born Varsen Aghababian has been appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration in the new government of Palestine, according to wafa.ps.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas issued a decree expressing confidence in the nineteenth government of Palestine and another decree regarding its formation.
The new government is set to take the oath of office next Sunday, March 31, 2024.
The political orientation of the newly formed government is based on the Palestine Liberation Organization, its international commitments, and a letter of appointment directed to the government by President Mahmoud Abbas.
The government program prioritizes humanitarian issues, including a comprehensive plan for humanitarian and urgent assistance to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
