Armenia Could Find Itself at a Broken Trough: Russian Foreign Ministry

Armenia could find itself at a broken trough if it believes the empty promises of the European Union regarding entry into its common market and decides to exit the EAEU. This was stated by the Russian Foreign Ministry to TASS while commenting on a report by the "Network of Friends of Armenia," led by former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, regarding the deepening of relations between the EU and Yerevan.

According to the report, Yerevan should exit the EAEU, of which, by the way, the main beneficiary is Armenia itself. At the same time, the report remains silent on when and under what conditions Armenians will be able to access the EU common market. It may turn out that after the empty promises of the European Union, the residents of the republic will be left with nothing,” noted representatives from the diplomatic department.

Earlier, the ministry had stated that the presence of the Russian 102nd military base and Russian border guards is the only real guarantee of Armenia's sovereignty.
