The presence of the RF 102nd Military Base and Russian border guards is the only real guarantee of Armenia's sovereignty. This was stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, as reported by RIA Novosti.
"Discussions regarding the withdrawal of Russian border guards as a means to somehow strengthen Armenia's military capabilities are dangerous demagoguery," the MFA stated.
