The last six months have become one of the calmest periods on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in the history of both countries. This was stated by Hikmet Hajiyev, assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, during a program dedicated to Azerbaijan on the Chinese Phoenix television channel.
“Today, Armenia and Azerbaijan are closer to peace than ever before. The last six months have been one of the calmest periods in the history of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. Negotiations were conducted for 30 years under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group. The group, co-chaired by France and the USA, was practically ineffective. Today, peace is closer than ever, and there is de facto peace in the region,” he said.
