Macron Reminded of the Fate of French Soldiers in Sevastopol
The head of the Crimean Parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, has called on French President Emmanuel Macron to remember the fate of the thousands of soldiers and officers who rest eternally in the Sevastopol cemetery before sending troops to Ukraine.
Earlier, the director of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergey Naryshkin, announced that France is preparing to send troops to Ukraine, with the first phase involving about 2,000 military personnel. He mentioned that officials at the Élysée Palace claim the number of French casualties in Ukraine has "already exceeded a significant threshold," and that releasing such information could incite public protests.
“The French have experience. During the Crimean War, the French lost tens of thousands of their fellow countrymen. In the French cemetery located in Sevastopol alone, there are up to 28,000 soldiers and officers sent to slaughter by Napoleon III. I do not believe the current Napoleon is capable of gathering and rearming the same number of fighters, but I have no doubt that there will be room for them on our land,” Konstantinov told RIA Novosti.
