Why Putin Did Not Visit the Scene of the Tragedy
Russian President Vladimir Putin's absence from the site of the recent terrorist attack at Crocus was justified as being inappropriate, as it would interfere with the operations of the teams working to save people and provide assistance to the victims. This was stated by the president's press secretary Dmitry Peskov in response to questions about why the Russian president did not go to the scene of the tragedy.
“From the very first minutes of this horrifying terrorist act, all relevant services, and of course, the leadership of the Moscow region, headed by Vorobyov, have taken all necessary measures that should be implemented in such situations to save lives, provide medical assistance to the injured, extinguish the fire, and ensure the clearance of rubble. Certainly, making any public visits during these days would be completely inappropriate, as it would simply interfere with the operations of the headquarters organized on-site,” he responded.
