Kremlin Calls on Telegram Founder to Monitor Messaging App More Closely

The founder of Telegram, Pavel Durov, should pay closer attention to the messaging app due to its frequent use for terrorist purposes. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the Russian president, in an interview with the Shot Telegram channel.

“We expect more from Pavel Durov in terms of monitoring the messenger, as this unique and phenomenal resource, which is growing before our eyes, is becoming an increasingly useful tool for terrorists being used for terrorist purposes,” Peskov said, noting that there are no plans to block the messenger in Russia.
