If they say 'either give up this settlement from the territory of Armenia or go to war, we will go to war': Simonian
Let’s remove the words 'surrender' or 'give up'; no one is surrendering, we are demarcating. The President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian, stated this in an interview with Public TV's 'Interview', apparently commenting on the issue regarding the villages adjacent to Tavush.
“We are not planning to concede anything that belongs to us. If they say, 'either you give up this settlement from the territory of Armenia or we go to war,' we will go to war. We are demarcating not under threat, but because it is necessary for us. After demarcation, Azerbaijan will recognize our borders, what else can they do?” Simonian said, indicating that the border is also necessary for Azerbaijan.
“We have said, ‘Let’s fix the borders; what is ours is ours, what is yours is yours.’ We are awaiting their response. This is not just about the map; there should be a legal document behind this, based on a mirror logic,” noted the Speaker of the National Assembly.
